Between working and sleeping I missed my second post. I had planned on finishing the set of verses from Psalm 119 that I had started, but the Lord has prompted me in another direction.

Psalm 51: 1-4a, 7-8, 10-13, 16a, 17, 19a (NLT)
1 "Have mercy on me O God, because of your unfailing love. Because of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins.
2 Wash me clean from my guilt. Purify me from my sin. 3 For I recognize my rebellion; it haunts me day and night. 4 Against you, and you alone, have I sinned....7 Purify me from my sins, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Oh, give me back my joy again; you have broken me -- now let me rejoice. 10 Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me. 11 Do not banish me from your presence, and don't take your Holy Spirit from me. 12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you. 16 You do not desire a sacrifice, or I would offer one. 17 The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God. 19 Then you will be pleased with sacrifices offered in the right spirit....."

David wrote this Psalm after Nathan had confronted him with his sin. This passage came to mind, when the Lord confronted me that I have been doing a great deal of lip service about wanting to be rid of idols in my life that keep me from a deeper commitment to Him, but going nowhere. I need to be broken, truly repentant of my sin against Him. I am asking the Father to break me daily, until I am truly repentant and dependent solely on Him for each victory over the enemy's hold in these areas of my life. As I put these scriptures to memory, I am humbly asking the Father to lead me in battle over these areas of my life....May Jesus have the VICTORY!!!

2 Timothy 1:7
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
You understand my thought from afar. Psalm 139:2

I have I Thessalonians 4 memorized and said it to Pam my partner -
I will continue review I Thessalonians 1-4 this month.. Chapter 1:8 says they sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing - I keep thinking how great it would be if FBC members sounded out the Word of the Lord in Macon so our Pastors would not have to speak anything !!!
Chapter 2:10 says How holily and justly and unblameable we behaved ourselves among you that believe - Oh, if we would how great our witness would be in Macon. Chapter 3:12 - And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you - I want to increase and about in love toward all of you. Chapter 4:11 is a verse that I pray at school Study to be quiet; and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you. These are my favorite verses from each chapter -
Just want to encourage each memorizer to continue memorizing God's word - you will get "addicted" to memorizing and you will love it the more you do it.
Blessings to all of you
Janie
